Social security benefits reached a record high of ¥121 trillion and the ratio of GDP increased

On October 16th, the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research published statistics of social security cost for fiscal 2018. Total social security benefits, including medical, and welfare benefits increased by ¥1339.1 billion (1.1%), which was ¥121.5408 trillion. Compared to the previous year, it recorded the highest. The ratio of GDP was 22.16% and it was up 0.21%.

Social Security Expenditure Statistics have complied with FY 2018 expenditures for the social security system including medical insurance, pension, long-term care insurance, and public assistance for a year.
