AI enables mutual collaboration between patient and medical perspectives


One of the things that the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated is online health consultation. The pandemic has made it difficult for people to seek medical attention simply because they have a fever or common cold symptoms. Even in situations where people used to see a doctor immediately upon becoming aware of a slight sign, they are now refraining from seeing a doctor due to the risk of infection associated with the visit.

Various companies have embarked on online health consultation in the past year, and online medical treatment has also been deregulated. I have the impression that online health consultations, medical consultations, and online medical treatment have spread rapidly. Online health consultations have the advantage of being accessible and inexpensive to consult. However, as some news reports have said, doctors have been insincere in their health consultation responses. One of the reasons behind this was that the payment to the doctors was very inexpensive or even free.

コロナ禍で加速したものの中にオンライン健康相談があります。発熱がある、感冒症状があるというだけで医療機関への受診が難しくなってしまったコロナ禍では、ちょっとした症状の自覚でこれまですぐに受診していた状況でも、受診に伴う感染リスクなどを考慮して受診控えが起こっています。

この1年間で、様々な企業がオンライン健康相談に乗り出し、オンライン診療も規制が緩和され、オンライン健康相談・医療相談・オンライン診療などが一気に普及してきた印象です。オンライン健康相談は気軽に安価で相談できるという利点はありますが、一部報道にあったように医師などが健康相談への回答に不誠実であったということもありました。その背景には、医師の健康相談業務に対する報酬がとても安価、あるいは無償であったことが理由の1つとして挙げられます。
